“Don’t Undermine Rituals,” Asks Dayananda Saraswati

CHENNAI, INDIA, November 21, 2010: “Rituals are the way to carry traditions through generations. Those who attack rituals are ignorant and do not understand their true importance,” said Swami Dayananda Saraswati here on Saturday. Speaking at the launch of the book “The Great Hindu Tradition – An Insight Into Vedic Principles, Shastras and Heritage” by Sarma Sastrigal, the Swami also stressed on the need to treat God as a vessel of understanding, instead of one for business and conflict.

Speakers at the function listed various instances of the degradation of Indian culture in contemporary life and proposed a return to Vedic practices as a method for social revival.
