ನಮ್ಮ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಇತರರಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.  ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲೂ ಹಲವಾರು ದೋಷಗಳು ಇರುತ್ತವೆ.  ಆದರೆ,  ನಮ್ಮ ದೋಷಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಿವಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು ಅದನ್ನು ಇತರರ ಜೊತೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತ ನಮ್ಮದೇನು ಪರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸುಮ್ಮನಾಗಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ.  ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು, ಆಪ್ತರು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ದೋಷ ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದಾಗ  ನಾವು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,  ನಮ್ಮ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು,  ದೋಷವೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹಲವಾರು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ  ಸಮಜಾಯಿಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಸಾಬೀತು ಮಾಡಲು ಹವಣಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.  ತಾವು ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸತ್ಯ ಅದೆಂದು ವಾದಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ,  ಕಾರಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಸರಿ ಇರಬಹುದೇನೋ ಎನ್ನುವಂತಹ […]

” ಅಹಿಂಸಾ, ಸತ್ಯ, ಆಸ್ತೆಯ, ಶೌಚ, ಇಂದ್ರೀಯನಿಗ್ರಹ ” ಇವು ಪಂಚ ಮುಖ್ಯ ತತ್ವಗಳು ಎಂದು ಧರ್ಮ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಯಾರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸದಿರುವುದು ;   ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ನುಡಿಯುವುದು ;  ಪರರ   ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು   ಕದಿಯದಿರುವುದು ;   ದೇಹ ,ಮನಸ್ಸು, ಮತ್ತು ನಾವಾಡುವ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪವಿತ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸುವುದು ; ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಚೆಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹಿಡಿತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.  ಇವೆ ಆ ಪಂಚ ಮಹಾ ತತ್ವಗಳು.  ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ  ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದ ಅಹಿಂಸೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ ” […]

ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯಾವ ಜೀವಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಆಹಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಬದುಕಲಾರದು.  ಜೀವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವ ಇರಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಆಹಾರ ಬೇಕೇ ಬೇಕು.  ಅದು ಗಾಳಿ, ನೀರು, ಮಣ್ಣು, ಸಸ್ಯ, ಮಾಂಸಾಹಾರೀ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಂಸ, ಯಾವುದೇ ಇರಬಹುದು.  ಆದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ತೈತ್ತಿರೀಯೋಪನಿಷತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ –  ‘ಅನ್ನಾದ್ವೈ ಪ್ರಜಾಃ ಪ್ರಜಾಯಂತೇ’ – ಅನ್ನದಿಂದಲೇ (ಆಹಾರದಿಂದಲೇ) ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಹುಟ್ಟುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು.  ಇದರಿಂದಲೇ ನಮಗೆ ಜೀವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆಹಾರಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಅವಿನಾಭಾವ ಸಂಬಂಧ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.  ಆಹಾರದಿಂದಲೇ ಜೀವಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ ಅಥವಾ ಆಹಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುತ್ತವೆ.  ಹೀಗೆ ಆಹಾರಾಧೀನವಾಗಿದೆ […]
